About Leslie vanWinkle
Leslie's music is a blend of retro folk rock, blues, global sounds, and Americana. Her poetical street-wise lyrics explore themes of human courage, spiritual enlightenment, timeless love, and just plain doing whatever it takes.
A multi-instrumentalist, she accompanies herself on guitar and occasionally salts her show with fiddle and mandolin tunes. Her clear, expressive, soulful voice can cast a spell on an entire room.
Leslie has performed professionally since 1972 and as a solo artist since 1990. She produced an hosted the original unplugged cable series “Northwest Tunesmith” in the 1980s.
Her first album “When You’re Ready” tramples through love, loss and coming of age. Her 2013 release "This End Up” is a tribute to choices that change lives.

- Alice Stuart
"Her music has an ethereal retro 1960s folk sound and her voice is like a cross between the early Grace Slick and Loreena McKennit."
-Marty Reimer, DJ at the Mountain FM
"Kind of a retro-rock, folk and something else. A talent that's well worth watching."
